30 minute trainer-led introduction to principles of Shaping the Message:
What is the foundation you need to build to communicate a complex topic with clarity, with a focus on what the needs of the audience are rather than what you want to say.
How do you frame the opening, middle and end of a presentation so it has the greatest impact.
How do you navigate the presentation so the audience can emotionally experience the impact of the ideas you are sharing.
50 minutes of practice in which some or all cohort members (depending on class size), present, receive feedback from trainer, present again, receive feedback from trainer and peers.
10 minute debrief and session end.
HARMONIZING EXPRESSION
Focusing on VIRTUAL for 90 minutes, LIVE for 90 minutes or a HYBRID of virtual and live, with practice in either depending on session setting.

20 minute trainer-led introduction to principles of Expression in chosen medium.
How do you use your:
Eyes – how do you have connected conversations.
Hands – how to control them and turn them into your gestural PowerPoint.
Feet – how to ground yourself and make random movement purposeful.
Voice – how to use variation in pitch, volume, tempo and pausing to hold the audience’s attention.
60 minutes of practice in which some or all cohort members (depending on class size), present, receive feedback from trainer, present again, receive feedback from trainer and peers.
10 minute debrief and session end.
MINDSET AND ENERGY

30 minute trainer-led introduction to managing mindset and directing energy:
What is nervous energy and how do you change your mindset to manage it.
Like a baseball hitter how do you create a ritual to help you.
Like a trained actor how do you breathe correctly to speak with power.
50 minutes of practice in which some or all cohort members (depending on class size), present, receive feedback from trainer, present again, receive feedback from trainer and peers.
10 minute debrief and session end.
OPTIONAL:
MINDSET AND ENERGY MODULE CAN BE EXTENDED BY 30 MINUTES TO INCLUDE A VISUALIZATION COMPONENT.
DEVELOPING EFFECTIVE LEADERSHIP

SESSION OUTLINE:
Cohort members are briefed to be prepared to discuss current leadership challenge.
20 minute trainer-led introduction to leadership styles and limiting beliefs.
All leaders have a “go to” style of leadership. We call this their Ace Card. We will first explore each individual’s ace card, what it is and why they predominantly use it. We will then explore the different styles of leadership and how it is important to develop abilities in each style, plus when it is appropriate to utilize each style.
We all have beliefs that move us forward and beliefs that hold us back. Something may be holding you back and limiting your effectiveness. Even if it isn’t objectively true, it is true for you if you believe it. We share with the cohorts ways to shift such limiting beliefs.
60 minutes of practice in which some or all cohort members (depending on class size) will explore their Ace Card and try modifying or using alternate approaches.
10 minute debrief and session end.
STORYTELLING

Cohort members briefed to come to session with presentation idea.
Trainer-led 20 minute introduction to principles of storytelling:
How to use storytelling to create a compelling ‘capstone’ in a biotech context.
How do you define the underlying meaning of your presentation in a way that brings a complex concept to life.
How do you find an appropriate story.
How to choose details to make a story come alive.
60 minutes of practice in which some or all cohort members (depending on class size), present, receive feedback from trainer, present again, receive feedback from trainer and peers.
10 minute debrief and session end.
COMPLEX CONVERSATIONS

Members are briefed to come to session with an idea for a complex conversation.
Trainer-led 20 minute introduction to concept:
Complex conversations can occur with team members, cross-functional partners or leaders.
Principles for Complex Conversations:
What are the blocks to productive dialogue.
How do you create the bridges to constructive dialogue.
50 minutes of practice in which some or all cohort members (depending on class size), present, receive feedback from trainer, present again, receive feedback from trainer and peers.

HOW TO RUN EFFICIENT MEETINGS

SESSION OUTLINE:
The session is designed to create a more effective and productive way of holding and managing meetings. People spend a minimum of 4 hours a day in meetings. If an organization follows the guidelines we share, meeting times can be reduced by 30%.
30 minute trainer-led session on how to conduct effective meetings through discussing the following principles:
Principle 1 – If you don’t have to have a meeting, don’t have a meeting.
Principle 2 – Always set the objective. If you don’t have an outcome don’t take the meeting.
Principle 3 – The lead in a meeting always should work out who needs to be there, and let people who are not required be told why it is not necessary for them to participate.
Dialogue among cohort and trainer on how to organize the meeting structure to encourage full participation.
40 minutes of practice using simulated meetings with different people leading.
20 minute debrief and session end.
ISSUE-SPECIFIC BRAINSTORMING SESSIONS

20 minute trainer-facilitated joint exploration of issue using brainstorming techniques to generate innovative thinking.
30 minute breakouts to delve deeper and come up with potential solutions.
40 minute debrief and clarification of solutions generated.
FOLLOW-ON INDIVIDUALIZED COACHING / ROLE PLAY SERVICES
